adults & horses. Whether you are a serious competitor, the casual
trail rider or a beginner, Wendy will focus on the riders individual
needs. Always working with a plan she will help students set and reach
their short-term and long-term equine goals. Wendy has developed safe,
enjoyable, easy to understand training methods that builds confidence
and trust between horse & rider.
Born a multiple generation equestrian,
Wendy was riding horses before she took her own 1st steps! From her
first memories she knew she would be a horse trainer/riding
instructor. During her early years Wendy trained with Debbie Salaski and
John Korenak competing on the hunter/jumper circut. As a teenager she
trained with Randy Short showing Paints and Quarter horses in all
disciplines winning World Championship titles. She rode for Sondra Moll a
couple years qualifying and showing her Saddlebreds as a Jr. rider in
3-gaited, country pleasure, western & hunt seat at the St. Louis
National Charity Horse Show.
During her college years Wendy studied Equine Science&Business
at North Eastern Oklahoma and Houghton College in New York. She returned
to her roots joining the equestrian team and successfully competing in
Jumpers also 3day eventing. Wendy was greatful to have trained with Olympic
trainers Walter Zettl & Raul De Leon. These amazing horsemen took
Wendys classical seat training in Dressage and Jumping to the
next level.
Wendy has trained in Oklahoma for many years now. She has also
judge horse shows, taught at clinics, taught equine classes for schools/colleges, ran equestrian children camps, worked with
special needs, helped riders overcome fear issues and bred and
raised champion horses both for the english and western world. Wendy's
students have successfully competed and won many Championship titles of
their own in Dressage, Hunter/Jumpers, Western Dressage, Western
Pleasure, Trail, Horsemanship, Showmanship, Gaited horses and speed
events such as Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, etc.
Wendy has proven
techniques in training all riders to properly communicate with their
horse through patience & understanding. She believes if a student
is taught the correct fundimentals and mechanics of riding they can
easily ride any horse in any seat they choose. Wendy has also
shown giving horses different jobs keeps them from getting
bored creating a happier horse with a good work ethic. With the right
training and dedication there is no limit as to what a rider & horse
can accomplish together. Wendys greatest reward is watching one of
her students reach their goals!
